[Dear member, friends of the chapter, and all other interested EH&S professionals:
Welcome to the TRC-ACHMM website. We are pleased to have you visit our website and take an interest in the activities of the Chapter.
We have sponsored two Oil & Gas related Hazard Awareness Training classes 2011. Watch for announcements regarding other events and meetings for the remainder of 2012.
Also, we will be hosting our EHMM Course again this year. We have decided to hold the course in November and we are working on having an EPA guest speaking for our General Membership meeting the same week. We will be holding some social functions, elections, a year end Business Meeting as well. Additionally, the AHMP National Convention is September 9-13, 2012 in Anchorage, AK, and, as always, our Chapter will be sending a delegate to those meetings to represent the Pittsburgh region.
Please check our Events page regularly and sign-up for our email announcements at the sign-up box at the lower left side of this Homepage.
If you have not been involved in the Chapter historically, please do not be hesitant to get involved. You DO NOT need to be a CHMM to be a Chapter member and involved in our activities. Through the combined contributions of many we are stronger and our programs are more robust. We have a great group of Chapter members, friends of the Chapter, and Certified Hazardous Materials Managers working in this region. The TRC-ACHMM has offered EHMM training course over the past 7 years and, as such, we have contributed in the certification of 80 to 100 individuals from our region and elsewhere around the country. In 2012, the EHMM overview course will be at the end of October.
We also have a lot of fun. We typically host 2 – 3 social occasions per year by attending Pirates games and coordinating happy hour gatherings for Penguins games. We encourage you to join the Chapter, to participate in meetings, to offer recommendations and suggestions for improving the Chapter programs and offerings to members, and get involved.
As the EH&S industry evolves and changes around us, all EH&S professionals are challenged with staying abreast of these changes and leading the way. The AHMP (our national organization) and the TRC-ACHMM is a central point of contact for anyone interested in EH&S issues and the profession and we sincerely hope you will make your presence known by making a difference in the Chapter.
Hope to see you at an upcoming meeting.
Sincerely,
Greg Ashman, CHMM
2012 TRC-ACHMM Chapter President
